Shift: 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday 2pm – 12am
Reports To: Derek Hartwell
Job Summary:
The Manufacturing, 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production operations during the second shift, ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role involves supervising a team of production workers, maintaining quality standards, and meeting production goals while adhering to company policies and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Supervision & Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production employees to achieve operational goals.
  • Assign work tasks and monitor employee performance, providing coaching and feedback as needed.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Production Management
  • Ensure production schedules and targets are met while maintaining efficiency and minimizing waste.
  • Monitor workflow and adjust resources as needed to optimize production output.
  • Address any production issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
 
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Ensure products meet quality specifications and customer requirements.
    • Enforce company policies, procedures, and compliance with OSHA, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Conduct inspections and audits to maintain a high level of quality and consistency.
  • Safety & Workplace Standards
    • Promote and enforce a safe working environment by following and implementing safety protocols.
    • Conduct safety meetings and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
    • Investigate accidents or incidents and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
    • Analyze production data to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing operations.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    • Maintain accurate production records, including shift reports, downtime logs, and employee attendance.
    • Communicate shift updates and operational issues to management and other shifts.
    • Ensure accurate documentation of safety incidents, maintenance activities, and quality control measures.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Understanding safety regulations and compliance requirements (OSHA, GMP, etc.).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Forklift experience and/or certification are a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime if needed.
Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Requires standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and operating machinery for extended periods.
